ANDRADE, JASON

Mr. Andrade is a dedicated English teacher who has had the pleasure of working at STEM Academy of Hollywood since August of 2013. He graduated from California State University Northridge in 2003 with Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and continued on to complete his teaching credential from his alma mater. He began his teaching career that same year at Christopher Columbus Middle School in Canoga Park, predominantly working with English Learners for five years before beginning his High School career . Since Columbus, Mr. Andrade has worked at Panorama High School in Panorama City and John C. Fremont High School in South Los Angeles before arriving at STEM. He has had experience teaching all grades from 6th through 12th; ELD 1-4, Creative Writing, English 7-10, 8th Grade Honors English, American Authors and Composition (English 11), and Expository Reading and Writing (English 12). 


Mr. Andrade has served as a English Department Chair and Co-Chair. He began and continues to sponsor the STEM Academy Chess Club. Mr. Andrade is passionate about teaching and strives to create a nurturing and safe learning environment in the classroom. He embraces STEM's Linked Learning philosophy and enjoys collaborating with his fellow teachers while engaging in cross-curricular project based learning.

In his free time Mr. Andrade is an avid swing dancer and enjoys both live theater and music, but his greatest passion will always be teaching.
